Welcome Darren Tomasulo, Graphic Designer!

At LinguaLinx, words and languages are our business and our passion. Our success depends having a team of great people behind our work! We’d like to show you a little bit of who we are. With that, join us in welcoming Darren Tomasulo to the team as a Graphic Designer! Darren worked with us as in intern this summer, and we were impressed with his work. He will be joining our Desktop Publishing Team to help ensure your layout files are translated and laid out appropriately.  We sat down with Darren after delivering him the good news to talk with him about his new role and what he is most looking forward to!

Welcome! Let’s start with “Why LinguaLinx”?

I was a recent college graduate looking to use my design skills. LinguaLinx opened the door for me, and now I’m using my knowledge of design in different capacities everyday.

Before coming to work here, how much did you know about the language translation industry?

This is the first experience I’ve had with any part of the language translation industry.

Where did you attend school and what was your major?

I went to SUNY Oswego, and I majored in Graphic Design.

Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?

My favorite place so far is probably Beaufort, South Carolina. The old buildings, landscape, and history are amazing; everything seemed very relaxed and laid back.

What is the best book you have ever read?

I think I would have to go with Cujo by Stephen King.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I like to golf as much as I can. I’ve also been trying to check out more cool and interesting locations to take photos and work on my photography.

What do you like most about living in Upstate New York?

Everything is really accessible, and there’s no shortage of things to do year round.

If you could learn any language, which would it be and why?

French – with Canada being so close, there are always a decent amount of people around that speak French.

If you could have lunch with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?

Tough, but I think I would go with Wayne Gretzky. He’s a hockey legend and continuously raised the bar when it came to skill and expectations. I’m sure he has some really cool stories from around the league he hasn’t shared yet.

Tell us one random fact about you.

I really love music, and going to see live bands. At this point I’ve lost count, but I’ve seen well over 100 different bands. Each time I go to a show it’s a completely different and new experience, even if it’s a band I’ve seen before.
