LinguaLinx Relocates to  Cohoes, N.Y.

 Corporate Headquarters moves into larger space- helps to revitalize a community

COHOES, N.Y., NOVEMBER 2008 - LinguaLinx Language Solutions, Inc. relocated from Schenectady to Cohoes, N.Y. in Fall 2008, according to David Smith , founder and president of the full-service translation and international communications agency who made the announcement today.

 “We considered very aggressive offers from different municipalities,” Smith said. “Cohoes had everything we were looking for – enough space to handle our continued growth and expansion, an extremely competitive cost per square foot, fiber optic Internet capability and extensive parking. The best part of the deal is the custom-designed workspace. We’re designing it from the ground up.”

 The building LinguaLinx has renovated and currently occupies sits in the historic district of Cohoes at 122 Remsen Street and has been re-named The LinguaLinx Building. The structure is the remaining portion of The Mohawk River Mills, which was built in 1855 and at the time, was estimated to be the largest knitting mill in the world, according to Cohoes officials.  The move to Cohoes will allow Smith to create additional jobs within the next few years. Currently, LinguaLinx employs more than 40 full-time employees in Tech Valley .

The city has worked hard to assist property owners in making their buildings more attractive and suitable for today’s workplace needs and I believe this is another example of that effort. I am very excited for LinguaLinx as they are able to design their own workplace to meet their needs, which is important for this fast growing firm.”
