David Smith – President
David Smith has worked in the language industry for nearly two decades in both the US and Europe. He operated a Russian translation company from 1991-1995 and served in Moscow as the Director of the State University of New York at Albany’s exchange program from 1995–1996 where he also held a position on the faculty of foreign languages at Moscow State University. From 1997–2001, he worked for TransPerfect Translations and was appointed Director of Business Development for translations.com in 1999. A published translator, Smith holds an MA in Russian Language and Literature and an MA in Russian Translation, both from the State University of New York at Albany. He serves on the Boards of the Association of Language Companies and Albany-Tula Alliance, is a member of the Tech Valley Global Business Network’s Steering Committee and is a featured speaker on globalization topics at a variety of worldwide conferences. |
Jonathan Smith – VP of IT
Jonathan Smith oversees the installation and maintenance of our Information Technology infrastructure including server technology, desktop hardware and applications as well as telecommunications. Smith is responsible for the planning and development of IT policies and procedures as well as the strategic growth of internal resources such as desktop support and development. He is instrumental in supporting the Production Group in implementing workflow processes, translation memory technologies and other server-side technologies. He establishes and maintains company protocols related to data security and backup and plays a crucial role in identifying and evaluating offshore technical resources. Smith is A+, Net+, MCDST, MCP, MCSA, MCSE and Cisco CCNA certified. |
Jim Maziejka – Director of Sales
Jim Maziejka joined LinguaLinx in June of 2012. Mr. Maziejka is responsible for managing the Sales and Marketing Departments for both LinguaLinx and GlobalScript. Jim came to LinguaLinx with over twenty years of sales, marketing and management experience. Jim has developed an aggressive growth strategy for the company and has surrounded himself with a winning and energetic team to ensure LinguaLinx remains one of the preeminent firms in the language services industry. He holds a BS degree in Healthcare Administration and Business Management from Springfield College. Jim resides in Fort Edward with his wife Colleen and their four children. |
Stephanie Stopera – Director of Finance and Accounting
Stephanie Stopera joined LinguaLinx in October 2007. Stopera is charged with a majority of the company’s financial management. Her responsibilities include overseeing all transaction processes, financial reporting, invoicing along with accounts payable and receivable. She manages the accounting staff and provides assistance with payroll, tax reporting and financial statements. She performs a key role as an internal ISO 9001:2008 auditor. Stopera came to LinguaLinx with more than 5 years of accounting and office management experience. She holds a BS in Business Management with a concentration in Accounting from Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, Vermont. |
Charlotte Knoll – HR Manager
Charlotte Knoll administers all of the human resource related functions. Her primary responsibilities include benefit administration, performance management, retention and compliance. She also focuses on recruitment, on-boarding and employee relations. Prior to joining LinguaLinx, she worked as an HR specialist. Charlotte holds a BA in Political Science with a minor in Business Administration from the University at Albany. |
Doug Bixler – Director – Desktop Publishing Group
Doug Bixler joined LinguaLinx with over 13 years of experience in the design and print industry. After graduating from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Doug’s career has included beta testing new technologies from Kodak in the photo and print industry, high-end retail package design, marketing and multilingual design. He brings a new perspective to the Desktop Publishing Department and continues to expand the capabilities of the department for our customers’ needs and requirements. |
Bill Kelts – Manager – Production
Bill Joined LinguaLinx in 2008 as a Project Manager. From there he moved up the ranks becoming a Senior Project Manager before taking on the role of Manager of Production. Bill oversees the day-to-day operations of the Production Department which includes project managers, key client relationship managers and quality assurance. In addition to managing project workflow, he handles personnel-related duties, project scheduling and workload variances. Bill is responsible for ensuring that all company policies and procedures in addition to those compliant with ISO 9001:2008 are met within the Production Department. Bill has over four years of industry related project management experience and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the State University of New York, College at New Paltz. |
Tynan Mills – Manager – Production
Tynan Mills oversees the day-to-day operations of the Production Department which includes project managers, key client relationship managers and quality assurance. In addition to managing project workflow, he handles personnel related duties, project scheduling, and workload variances. Ty spent 4 years at the New York State Assembly managing all aspects of numerous Assembly members’ political campaigns, day-to-day legislative communications, and in-depth policy analysis and advising. Since joining LinguaLinx, he has been immersed in mastering the technology and coordinating services to better support LinguaLinx clients. He holds a BA in Mass Communication with a minor in Business from the State University of New York, College at Oneonta. |
Eriko Fujita – Senior Project Manager
Eriko Fujita joined LinguaLinx as a Project Manager in 2006. Eriko has almost two decades of project management experience, from proposal preparation to project scheduling and workflow troubleshooting. Her day-to-day responsibilities include managing projects and estimating turnaround time and costs for potential new projects. As a Senior Project Manager, Eriko helps to formulate and document production department best practices, evaluate and learn new technologies, train new hires in all departments and assist her colleagues in the Production Group. |
